The garden is named from Yi hexagram, because it is a humorous meaning for the small Yi garden.Yi hexagram is the 27th hexagram of Zhouyi, Genshan earthquake, Genshan thunder.Yi is self-cultivation, nursing, thunder in the mountain, for the signs of spring, all things begin to grow, so Yi hexagram is the sign of development, mostly auspicious. With the "local" theme of the local art season, the small Yi garden means the soil lives, the oolong germinates. The team of the School of Architecture and Art of the Chinese Academy of Fine Arts takes the natural color of Wolong ancient fishing village as the keynote, starts from the craftsmanship and natural construction, and brings the local architecture to be transformed into the garden. With the traditional concept of garden and house as one, the "soil" concept of the School of Architecture and Art of the Chinese Academy of Fine Arts is used. Through color collocation and experiments, the traditional construction technique of rammed earth is adopted, which also highlights the natural concept of "born and bred" from the ruins. The original buildings and ground materials around the site are collected as the main source of subsequent rammed earth and coating materials, which not only realizes the recycling of materials but also strengthens the connection between works and the site.In order to maintain the original natural beauty of openness, the small Yi garden does not set up a wall, but only combines the turning and layered walls around it to create the characteristics of regional enclosure and opening. The gravel summer grass flower, autumn wild grass and four seasons garden form an integrated whole, introducing circular paths and rest platforms. The garden color takes summer and autumn as the main design object, with four months as the cycle to transform the garden theme in the natural wilderness and human heritage. The warm wall of the soil covered with the green natural vegetation hide each other into a fun, the use of modern materials such as weathering steel and stone cage nets, so that the new medium and penetration between plants and soil. The use of soil and the transformation of the terrain of the small garden will enrich the dialogue between the foreground vegetation, the art wall and the long-term style of the architectural community, creating an ecological garden with unique characteristics in the southeast entrance of Wulong Village.
